Irma May Conner, 80, of Vandalia, died at 3:40 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia, with Dr. Ward Sussenbach officiating. Burial was in Mulberry Grove Cemetery, Mulberry Grove. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials: Parkview Free Methodist Church in Vandalia or Mulberry Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Conner was born on May 27, 1928, in Seminary Township, Fayette County, the daughter of Roy and Maggie Benefiel Cripe. She married Loyd C. Conner on Feb. 27, 1948, in Seminary Township; he died on March 13, 1982.
She was a secretary at Vandalia Tractor and Equipment in Vandalia, and a member of Parkview Free Methodist Church in Vandalia.
She is survived by a sister, Mary E. Cripe of Vandalia; nephews, Jerry Cripe and Charles “Sonny” Conner; nieces, Tammie S. Evers, Lora Brown, Betty Ammann, Donna Scott and Tommy Elam; and several great-nephews and great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Bill, John and Bob; and an infant sister.
