Donald L. Dennning, 59, of Edwardsville and formerly of Vandalia, died at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, at his home.
No services will be held; according to his wishes, his body will be cremated. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at Weber and Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville. Memorials: Heartland Hospice.
Mr. Denning was born on Feb. 4, 1949, in Vandalia, the son of Frank and Norma King Denning. He married Marchie Smith on April 30, 1971, in Vandalia.
He was a painter at US Steel and Granite City Steel, retiring on July 31, 2008. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Darran Denning and his wife Lisa of Edwardsville, Melvin Denning and his wife Sandra of Pocahontas, and Cecil Denning of Edwardsville; grandchildren, Armanda, Isaiah, Daniel, Bobby, Colton and Harlee Denning; brothers, Earl Denning and his wife Caroletta of Arizona, and Kent Denning and his wife Barbara of Shobonier; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
