A day before our nation celebrated the outcome of last November’s election, some local residents began looking toward the next election.
Monday was the first day for filing nominating petitions for the April 7 election. At that election, a number of municipal and school board seats will be filled.
While a number of people have already made up their minds to be candidates in the consolidated election, there’s still time for those of you who have given at least a little bit of thought about serving on your local municipal or school board. The filing period runs through next Monday.
If you’re among those people who have been thinking about running for a municipal or school post, we encourage you to strongly consider taking that next step. If you have an interest in serving your community, those are a couple of exemplary ways of doing so.
