Della A. Anthony, 82, of Greenville, died at 4:45 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, at the home of her daughter, Victoria, in Greenville.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville, with Darryl Bolen officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Visitation was to be held from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials: Bond County Hospice or the family.
Mrs. Anthony was born on July 14, 1926, in Greenville, the daughter of Ferdinand John “Bud” and Edna Arlene Causey Siefert. She married William C. Anthony on Oct. 3, 1950, in Pocahontas, and they were baptized together in 1983 at Fellowship Baptist Church.
She grew up in Greenville, and attended the Mulberry Grove and Greenville schools. She reared her family of five children, then joined Utlaut Memorial Hospital in Greenville, where she became a ward clerk, working in that position for 25 years before retiring in 1994.
She is survived by her husband; children, Candace and her husband Russell Bryant of Moline, Victoria Ernspiker of Greenville, William C. Anthony of Belleville, Steven Anthony and his wife Terry of Cedar Hills, Mo., and Rex Anthony and his wife Karen of Greenville; brother, Jerry Siefert and his wife Shirley of Deer Park, Washington; grandchildren, David Bryan and his wife Elizabeth, Kevin Bryant and his wife Kim, Travis Bryant, Jason Bryant, Joe Anthony and his wife Rebecca, Susan and her husband Rob Griffin, Melanie Anthony, Melanie and her husband Dan Eaker, Jesse Anthony and Katie Anthony; great-great-grandchildren, Carl Polanski, Brian Griffin, Frank Griffin, Keith Bryant, Cody Bryant, Alex Bryant, Molly Bryant, Traci Friedrichs, Matthew Bryant, Henry William Anthony, Alex Griffin, Sydney Griffin, Danika Eaker and Melina Eaker; and great-great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Griffin, Joshua Friedrichs and Parker Friedrichs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two grandchildren, Tonya Sue Anthony and Loretta “Lori” Cox.
