L. Lorene Lattig, 85, of Vandalia and formerly of Ramsey, died at 4:10 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care in Vandalia.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Miller Funeral Home in Ramsey, with the Rev. Harry Kirk officiating. Burial will be in Ramsey Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon-2 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials: Fayette County Health Department Hospice or Fayette County Hospital LTC Activity Fund.
Mrs. Lattig was born on Sept. 22, 1923, in Ramsey Township, Fayette County, the daughter of George Sr. and Lottie Elizabeth Brown Washburn. She married Melvin Forrest Lattig on June 7, 1942, in Troy, Mo.; he died on Jan. 22, 2000.
She was a retired cook for Robbins Restaurant and the Fayette County Old Folks Home, and a retired inspector for Crane Packing, all of Vandalia. She was a member of Ramsey Christian Church in Ramsey and a past member of the Harmony Club.
She is survived by sons, Larry Lattig of Ramsey, and Greg Lattig and his wife Gloria of Ramsey; daughters, Bonnie and her husband Vernon Bandelow of Silvis, and Kay McEndollar of San Bernadino, Calif.; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, George Washburn Jr., in 1969; and grandson, James Carveiro, in 1992.
