Lonnie R. Durbin Sr., 60, Vandalia

Lonnie Ray Durbin Sr., 60, of Vandalia, died at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, in the emergency room at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.

Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. on Monday at Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia, with the Rev. Pete LeDuc officiating. Friends and family gathered at the cemetery at 12:45 p.m. on Monday. Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Durbin was born on Nov. 2, 1948, in St. Elmo, the son of Dale and Kathleen Durbin. He was divorced.

He was a laborer at Crane Packing and Owens-Brockway, both in Vandalia. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by sons, Mike Durbin and Shawn Durbin, both of Vandalia; daughters, Jennie Leidner of Vandalia, Marsha Durbin of Vandalia, Michelle Durbin of Vandalia and Cindy Durbin of Bingham; sister, Joann Scoope of Arkansas; and 15 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Joyce; a son, Lonnie Jr.; and a daughter, Marsha Lynn.
