Mary Jane Hatfill, 69, of Vandalia, died at 10:26 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, at her residence.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at First Pentecostal Church in Vandalia, with the Rev. Daniel McDonald officiating. Burial will be in McInturff Cemetery, Hagarstown. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services on Monday at the church. Hohlt & File Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: The Family.
Mrs. Hatfill was born on Dec. 24, 1938, in Dalton City, the daughter of Orville and Jessie M. Dinger Auten. He married Donald D. Hatfill on Nov. 21, 1974, in Decatur; he died on Dec. 26, 1989.
He was a health care worker at Cherrywood Health Care Center in Vandalia.
She is survived by daughters, Barbara and her husband Everett Simmons of Vandalia, Louise and her husband Tim Borders of Vandalia, Peggy Gesking of Brazil, Ind., and Virginia and her husband Jack Boggs of Lady Smith, Wis.; son, Virgil Hammack and his wife Cindy of Greenville; stepdaughter, Becky Ray of Dexter, Mo.; stepson, Donald D. Hatfill Jr. of Mulberry Grove; sisters, Doris Lewis of Litchfield, Wilma Moody of Decatur, Barbara Conder of Tennessee, Virginia Lawlere of Assumption, Susan Creek of Decatur and Brenda Boggs of Wisconsin; and brother, Virgil Auen of Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and three sisters.
