Arden A. Hinrichs, 72, of Marquette Heights and formerly of Fayette County, died on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008, at Riverview Manor Care Center in East Peoria.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Day Funeral Home in Patoka, with the Rev. Jeff Lashley officiating. Burial will be in Farmers Cemetery in rural Shobonier. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 8 a.m. until time of services on Thursday, both at the funeral home. Memorials: Kidney Foundation or American Heart Association.
Mr. Hinrichs was born on April 21, 1936, in Lone Grove Township, Fayette County, the son of Walter and Elenaora Lange Hinrichs. He married Betty S. Veal on Sept. 25, 1956, in Vandalia; she died on Sept. 8, 2006.
He grew up in the Vernon area and lived his adult life in the Peoria area. He was a power truck driver for Caterpillar Co. Foundry in Mapleton for many years. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church in Peoria and United Auto Workers Local No. 974 of East Peoria. He enjoyed fishing, camping, reading and spending time with his family.
He is survived by sons, Tim L. Hinrichs and his wife Jamie of East Peoria, Chuck Hinrichs and his wife Mary of Marquette Heights, and Rory A. Hinrichs and his wife Dena of Marquette Heights; daughters, Vonette Hinrichs of Cape Canaveral, Fla., and Portia M. and her husband Kenny Lyons of Melbourne, Fla.; brother, Norman Hinrichs and his wife Wanda of Vernon; grandchildren, Jennifer and her husband Scott UpChurch of East Peoria, Andrew Lyons of Melbourne, Fla., Timothy Hinrichs Jr. and his wife Kimberly of Melbourne, Fla., Evan Hinrichs, Ashley Hinrichs, Lydia Hinrichs, Aaron Hinrichs and Adam Hinrichs, all of Marquette Heights, and JaLynne Hinrichs of East Peoria; and great-grandchildren, Melanie Dobbs and Natalia UpChurch, both of East Peoria.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brothers, Don and Robert Hinrichs.
