Reta I. Rhodes, 88, of Ramsey, died on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at Bayle City Baptist Church in Bayle City, with the Rev. Edmund Hill officiating. Burial was in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, rural Ramsey. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at Miller Funeral Home in Ramsey. Memorials: Bayle City Baptist Church.
Ms. Rhodes was born on March 28, 1920, in Fayette County, the daughter of Louie Von and Ida Mae Funderburk Rhodes.
She was a retired teacher, and a member of Bayle City Baptist Church and the Bayle City Unit of Home Extension.
She is survived by nephew, Stan Carter and his wife Nekida of Bingham; nieces, Diana Pasley of Bingham, and Lisa and her husband Gary Marshall of Fillmore; and great-nephews, Brian Carter of Bingham, Jeff Carter of Bingham and Troy Sapp of Vandalia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Leveda and Melbourine.
