Todd M. Thompson, 43, of Vandalia, died at 1:54 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Sunday at Christ Tabernacle Church in Herrick, with Pastor Tom Suey officiating. Burial was in Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia. Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Vandalia and one hour before services on Sunday at the church. Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Todd Thompson’s Children’s Education Fund.
Mr. Thompson was born on Oct. 16, 1964, in Vandalia. He was the son of John Michael Thompson and Nancy Gail Wiss Thompson Gebke. He married Abbey Gail Wehrle on May 24, 2004, in Vandalia.
He was the owner/operator of Thompson Construction in Vandalia. He was a member of Christ Tabernacle Church in Herrick and a 15-year member of the Vandalia Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife; children, Drake, Dalton, Gracie and Lexie; parents; John and Louise Thompson, and Nancy and Ken Gebke; grandparents, Bud and Edna Wiss, Lois Greeson, Martha Thompson and Helen Gebke; sister, Tammy and her husband Brian Westendorf; brother, Ted Thompson and his wife Angie; stepbrothers and sisters, Keith and Nina Gebke, Todd and Gennie Gebke, and Rachel and Jonathan Myers; father- and mother-in-law, Mike and JoEllen Wehrle; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Michael and Angelica Wehrle, Lori and Quinn Bowen, and Jennifer and Rick Allen; aunts and uncles, Becky and Paul Justad, Carolyn and Gary Schmitt, Max and Tina Thompson, and Diane and Larry St. Cin; great-aunt, Ruth Spurlin; nephews and nieces, Brandi Cripe, Brittany Ondes, Tyler Westendorf, Jake Bowen, James Bowen and Quincy Bowen, Dalton Wehrle, Drew Thompson, Lucy Allen, Lola Allen and Daisy Allen, and Max Wehrle; great-nephew and -nieces, Macy, Maddi and Thacker Cripe, and Gavin McCormick.
