Leonard E. Hoover, 83, of rural Brownstown, died at 6:55 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008, at his home.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 30, at German Reformed Cemetery, Loogootee. There is no visitation. Claggett Funeral Home in Brownstown was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Four Mile Christian Church, rural Brownstown.
Mr. Hoover was born on Feb. 25, 1925, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of Floyd and Lura Mattix Hoover. He married Bernice Kistler on Aug. 7, 1943.
He was retired from Fedders USA in Effingham and a member of Four Mile Christian Church in rural Brownstown. He was an Army veteran, serving during World War II.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Charles Hoover and his wife Rose of Brownstown, Ronald Hoover and his wife Sharon of Brownstown, and Michael Hoover and his wife Connie of Broken Arrow, Okla.; daughter-in-law, Judy Hoover of Brownstown; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Stephen; and two grandsons.
