Etta J. Puleo, 92, of Sullivan died at 8:05 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008, in Mason Point.
Services will be held at Reed Funeral Home in Sullivan, with Rev. Soames officiating, with the date and time to be determined. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery.
Mrs. Puleo was born on Nov. 6, 1915, in Chicago, the daughter of Frank and Josephine Zottoli Castaldo. She married Sam Puleo on Aug. 16, 1936; he died on Nov. 5, 2000.
She was a member of St. Columcile Catholic Church in Sullivan. She loved cooking, and she loved entertaining her family and friends as long as her health permitted. In recent years, she taught some of the workers at Mason Point how to do the “Charleston,” and one of her favorite songs was “Sweet Georgia Brown.”
She is survived by a son, Ken Puleo and his wife Wanda of Brownstown; daughter, Kathy and her husband Tom Bunfill of Sullivan; grandchildren, Kurtis Bunfill and his wife Megan, and Kristi and her husband Tim Montgomery, both of Sullivan; great-grandchildren, Jared and Abigail of Sullivan, and Tyson and Tucker Montgomery of Sullivan; sister, Dolly Yeates of Rogers, Ark.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
