Betty Richards, 75, of Vandalia, died at 4:10 p.m. on Sunday at the family residence.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Haley Chapel in rural Vandalia (Bluff City). Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at Haley Chapel. Hohlt & File Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Skotricia Paschall, Betty’s oldest daughter and faithful nurse.
Mrs. Richards was born on July 17, 1933, in Vandalia, the daughter of Delbert Yarbrough and Loucille Ogelsby. She was reared by Aribert Yarbrough, and Jack, Herb and Bob Scott. She married George E. Richards on June 6, 1953, in Vandalia.
She was a homemaker and a member of Haley Chapel.
She is survived by her husband; daughters, Skotricia and her husband Jack Paschall of Floral City, Fla., and Janet Christionson of Tampa, Fla.; brothers, Melvin Yarbrough and his wife Darlene Yarbrough of Peoria, and Mickey Yarbrough and his wife Linda of Decatur; grandchildren, Summer and her husband David Tracy of Brandon, Fla., John Leath and his wife Kelly of Brandon, Fla., Jason Leath and his wife Kara of Riverview, Fla., Dustin Leath of Tampa, Fla., Daniel Christionson of Tampa, Fla., Sidney Lea Christionson of Brandon, Fla., and Opey Christionson of Brandon, Fla.; and great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jordan, Kaleb and Kaelyn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kinney Richards; brother, Keith Daughtery; and sister, Mary Lou Hulskotter.
