Neal W. Black, 46, of Dyersburg, Tenn., and formerly of the Brownstown area, died on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in East Memphis, Tenn.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Robert Weaver officiating. Burial will be in German Reform Cemetery, rural Brownstown. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials: First United Methodist Church, 100 McGaughey, Dyersburg, Tenn., or Community Cancer Fund, P.O. Mr. Black was born on Feb. 18, 1962, in Fayette County, the son of Edward William Jr. and Joyce Marlene Bennyhoff Black. He was married to the former Robin Wasser.
He was a maintenance mechanic for Quebecor World and a member of First United Methodist Church in Dyersburg, Tenn.
He is survived by his wife; son, Joshua Black, at home; daughter, Kassey Black, at home; mother, of Farina; brothers, Cloyd Black of Auburn and Duane Black of Effingham; and mother- and father-in-law, Kay and Dale Wasser of Vandalia.
He was preceded in death by his father.
