Marjorie J. Presley, 88, of Greenville, died at 11:58 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, at Oliver C. Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday at Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville, with the Rev. Kurt Stone officiating. Burial was in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Greenville. Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials: Foundation for the Blind or Hitz Memorial Home in Alhambra.
Mrs. Presley was born on Nov. 26, 1919, in Odin, the daughter of John Jacob and Anna Mae Wolfe Sebastian. She married Herman Presley in St. Louis, Mo., on Nov. 9, 1940; he died on Feb. 24, 1989.
She grew up in Odin, attended local schools and graduated with the class of 1937 from Salem High School. She was a homemaker and reared her children, and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Greenville.
She is survived by daughters, Patricia Presley-Spade and her husband Larry Spade, and Pamela Masulla and her fianc, Carl Bradley; grandchildren, Aaron Abbott and Courtney Kemp; and sisters, Earline Florea of Creve Coeur, Mo., and Mary Soldner of Kinmundy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Phillip Presley; brothers, Earl Sebastian (in infancy) and John Sebastian; and sister, Alice Andes.
