Viola Belle ‘Dimp’ Linton, 83, of Decatur and formerly of Vandalia and St. Elmo, died on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials: Oak Grove Church of the Nazarene.
Mrs. Linton was born on March 10, 1925, in St. Elmo, the daughter of John Eldon and Ruth Alone Grubaugh. She married Harold Dean Linton on May 23, 1945, in Vandalia; he died on Aug. 5, 2002.
She was a charger member of Oak Grove Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by a daughter, Karen Sue and her husband David Brown of Monticello; sons, Dennis Dean Linton of Macon and David Dean Linton of Decatur; grandchildren, Joshua Linton and Jason Linton; great-grandson, Dakota Linton; sisters, Fern and her husband Royal Weber of Nokomis, and Helen ‘Pat’ Doyle of Vandalia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, John Grubaugh and William Charles Grubaugh; and sisters, Lois Imogene Payne and Mary Lou Epps.
