Marcelline A. ‘Speck’ Caudle, 94, of Salem and formerly of Vernon, died on Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, in her home.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Day Funeral Home in Patoka. Burial will be in Sandy Branch Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 8 a.m. until time of services on Tuesday, both at the funeral home. Memorials: Sandy Branch Cemetery.
Mrs. Caudle was born on Jan. 5, 1914, in Foster Township, Marion County, the daughter of Claude and Carrie Bundy Garrett. She married William Dale Caudle on Aug. 24, 1938, in Palmyra, Mo.; he died on Feb. 1, 1981.
She was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a homemaker, and she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an avid gardener, and she also enjoyed dancing and country music.
She is survived by sons, John Caudle and his wife LaDawn of Vernon, and James Caudle and his wife Linda of Cuba; grandchildren, Christopher Caudle and his wife Anna of Vernon, Caleb Caudle of Hammel, Sarah Ores of Peoria and Amanda Caudle of Webster, N.Y.; stepgrandchild, Tina and her husband Jeremy Carby of Bloomington; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Caudle, Tyler Caudle and Marshall Ores; and great-stepgrandchildren, Jackson Carby and Annabelle Carby.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Cecil Garrett and Theodore Garrett; and sisters, Leona Williams and Gayle Lawson.
