Waneta Springman, 78, of St. Elmo, died on Saturday, July 26, 2008, at Regional Hospital in Terra Haute, Ind.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Marys Catholic Church in Ramsey. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, rural St. Elmo. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Kessel Funeral Home in St. Elmo. Memorials: St. Elmo Food Pantry, c/o Fayette County Bank, 320 N. Main St., St. Elmo.
Mrs. Springman was born on May 9, 1930, in Piatt County, the daughter of Elmer and Olive Tish Larimore. She married Frank Springman on Feb. 3, 1949, in Springfield.
She was employed as a beautician at Spurgeons Beauty Shop in Clinton and had a beauty shop in her home, retiring in 1990. She was a member of and sacristan at St. Marys Catholic Church, was active in St. Marys Countil of Catholic Women and devoted countless hours, along with her husband Frank, tending to the church.
She is survived by her husband; daughter, Jacinta and her husband Ron Gricher of Kansas Sity, Mo; sons, Michael Springman and his wife Joni, and Ron Springman and his wife Susie of Clinton; brothers, Thurm Larimore of Millmine, Paul Larimore of Sullivan, and Dean Larimore and his wife Dorothy of Kennewick, Wash.; sisters, Linda and her husband Bob Wagner of Taylorville, Kay and her husband Danny Norman of White Heath, and Sandra and her husband Charlie Bartison of Vandalia, Mo.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Marie Goldsbury and Violet Buoys; and brothers, Floyd Larimore and Wayne Fair.
