Thomas C. ‘Tom’ Devall, 56, of Vandalia, died at 8:08 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2008, at his home.
Private services will be held at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Joe Lawson officiating. Burial will be in Evans Cemetery, rural Vandalia. Private visitation will be held at the funeral home. Memorials: American Cancer Society or Lincolnland Hospice ‘Grant a Wish’ Fund.
Mr. Devall was born on March 5, 1952, in Elgin, the son of Chester ‘Chet’ and Virginia Ruth Taylor Devall. He married Melissa Ann Clark on Feb. 10, 1973, in Vandalia.
He was a farmer, and was formerly employed by Greenville Livestock in Greenville and Eagle Panel in Mulberry Grove.
He is survived by his wife; son, Patrick Wayne Devall of Vandalia; daughter, Jennifer Lee and her husband Chris Bone of Mulberry Grove; brothers, Dean Devall and his wife Sandy of Vandalia, and John Devall and his wife Teresa of Vandalia; sisters, Carolyn and her husband Kirby Mansker of Springfield, and Kay Sue and her husband Norman Koonce of Kentucky; and grandchildren, Neil Patrick, Yavonn Marie, Kimberly Ann and Diana Lynn.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
