Mary ‘Evelyn’ Oliver, 79, of Vandalia, died at 11:20 a.m. on Friday, July 4, 2008, at the family residence.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Hohlt & File Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Doug Wodtka officiating. Burial will be in Pinhook Cemetery, rural Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials: Fayette County Hospice or Overcup Baptist Church in rural Vandalia.
Mrs. Oliver was born on Dec. 14, 1928, in Vandalia, the daughter of Howard and Viola Baldwin Carter. She married Billie E. Oliver on June 30, 1946, in Vandalia.
She was a secretary for Oliver’s Sales and Service of Vandalia and a member of Overcup Baptist Church in rural Vandalia.
She is survived by her husband; daughters, Billye and her husband Bob Marquardt of Vandalia, Bobbye and her husband Mike Eulberg of Vandalia, and Connie and her husband Grayland Bolyard of Vandalia; brother, Carl Edward Carter of St. Ann, Mo.; sister, Martha Evedean and her husband Lloyd Bollinger of Millersville, Mo.; grandchildren, Shelley Edwards, Kelley Smothers, Mary Hasper, Billie Worker, Judson Clark and Will Bolyard; great-grandchildren, Seth Edwards, Carley Edwards, Shelby Edwards, Taylor Killen, Brayden Smothers, Karingten Smothers, Jaedyn Worker, Kaelyb Worker and Billye-Maegyn Worker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, two sisters and one grandchild.
