S. Jean Carter, 70, of Greenville, died on Friday, June 27, 2008, at her home.
Services were to be held at 7 p.m. on Monday at First Christian Church in Greenville, with Darryl Bolen officiating. Visitation was to be held from 4-7 p.m. on Monday at the church. Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Bond County Hospice, First Christian Church or the family.
Ms. Carter was born on June 19, 1938, in Chattanooga, Tenn., the daughter of Jack and Evan Jean Fairbanks Wolfe. She grew up in Chattanooga and attended local schools, and moved to Greenville at the age of 20. She married and moved to Collinsville and lived there for 10 years. After her divorce, she moved back to Bond County, living in Pocahontas and Greenville. She worked at Southern Edge Restaurant for many years.
She is survived by children, Dina and her husband Larry Ficklin of Greenville, Kathy and her husband Ronald Young of Piqua, Ohio, and Robert Dean Carter of Collinsville; grandchildren, Christopher Atchley and his wife Carolyn, Amber Nicole Stine, Kendra McAllister and Danielle Carter; and siblings, J.L. Wolfe and Louise Whittaker, both of Chattanooga, and Imogene and her husband Johnny Schaefer of Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Russell Wolfe; and sister, Beatrice Cantrell.
