Randal Dean Hessenauer, 48, of Pocahonatas, died at 2:25 a.m. on Sunday, June 8, 2008, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville, with Darryl Bolen officiating. Burial will be in Brown Cemetery, Greenville. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Memorials: The family.
Mr. Hessenauer was born on Nov. 12, 1959, at Highland Hospital, the son of Richard John and Leveda Elaine Miller Hessenauer. He married Jannette Earnest; they later divorced.
He grew up between Old Ripley and Sorento, and attended Pocahontas Elementary School and Greenville High School. He served in the Navy for a year, worked for the city of Greenville for four years, worked for Highland Supply and did hazardous waste removal out of the laborers local of Pocahontas and East St. Louis. He enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by children, Amy Burris of Greenville, Becky and her husband Josh Crawford of Greenville, and Aaron Wernle of Carlyle; mother, of rural Sorento; siblings, Ronald Hessenauer and his wife Ruth of Alhambra, Robert Hessenauer and his wife Mary of Sorento, Rodney Hessenauer and his wife Lori of Sorento, and Linda and her husband Bill Faith of Pocahontas; and grandchildren, Austin Ulmer, Devin Ulmer, Destinee Ulmer, Kayle Crawford, Nicholas Crawford and Caleb Crawford.
He was preceded in death by his father; son, Robert Todd Hessenauer; and sister, Cheryl, age 49.
