DeWitt Q. Blunt, 89, of Stockton, Calif., died on Thursday, May 22, 2008, in Stockton.
A chapel service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Lakeview Assembly Church in Stockton. Visitation was held from noon-7 p.m. on Tuesday at Wallace-Martin Funeral Home in Stockton. Memorials: American Heart Association or Disabled American Veterans.
Mr. Blunt was born on Sept. 21, 1918, in St. Elmo. He and his wife, Grace, were married for 62 years.
He served in the Army during World War II, and received a Silver Star and three Bronze Stars with oak leaf clusters. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 23 years. He was a member of Lakeview Assembly Church and Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife; daughter, DeAnna and her husband Bob Watson of Copperopolis, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Rochelle Blunt; and grandchildren, Casey Watson, Ryan Watson, Rebecca Blunt and Joseph Blunt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Stephen Blunt; and great-grandson, Benjamin Stephen Blunt.
