William ‘Bill’ Alexander Miller, 82, Decatur, died at 5:45 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. this Saturday at Ramsey Cemetery in Ramsey, with the Rev. Glenn Sparks officiating. Friends and family may gather at the cemetery at 12:45 p.m. Military rites will be accorded graveside by the Anderson-Scoggins Post American Legion No. 460 of Ramsey. Memorials: Second Church of God in Decatur or Ramsey Baptist Church.
Mr. Miller was born on Jan. 8, 1926, in Ramsey, the son of Homer E. and Sylvia Cleta Hebel Miller. He married Norma J. Rainey on July 4, 1948, in Ramsey.
He was a retired service manager at Northtown Ford in Decatur and a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Old Capitol Post No. 3862 in Vandalia, Disabled Veterans in Decatur; and Crawford-Hale American Legion Post No. 95 in Vandalia.
Mr. Miller is survived by his wife; sons, Michael Miller and his wife Cheryl of Decatur, and William Miller and his wife Judy of Moweaqua; foster son, M.J. Miller and his wife Sherry of Decatur; daughter, Joyce and her husband Tracy Peters of Decatur; grandchildren, Chris, Sarah, Trevor, Nicholas, Cassidy and Benjamin; and great-grandson, Kyle Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Judith Miller; two brothers; and a sister.
