Kenneth L. Kious, 72, of Keyesport, died at 6:50 p.m. on Sunday, May 11, 2008, at his daughter’s home south of Mulberry Grove.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Young Funeral Home in Mulberry Grove, with the Rev. Tommy Chapman officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of services on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials: The family.
Mr. Kious was born on Feb. 4, 1936, in Bond County, the son of Loren and Ruth Dwyer Kious. He married Naomi Maxine Massey on Sept. 11, 1955; they later divorced.
He grew up in the Smithboro area and graduated from Mulberry Grove High School. He served in the Air Force. He lived in Keyesport for the past six years, and lived in Greenville prior to that. He was a member of Keyesport American Legion Post No. 1994.
He is survived by daughters, Marietta and her husband Vance D. Harrelson of Helena, Ala., Angela and her husband Keith Belcher of Vandalia, Nancy King of Omaha, Neb., and Linda and her husband Kent Goodin of Mulberry Grove; sons, Patrick Kious of Pocahontas, Andy Kious of King George, Va., and Harry Carl Butch Kious of California, Md.; brothers, Jerry Lee Kious of Mulberry Grove and Robert Neal Kious, Harry Carl Butch Kious of Marion, Mich., and Patrick Dewitt Kious of Gaineville, Fla.; sisters, Sandra Sue Zera of Columbia, Ill., and Betty Ann Walker of Vandalia; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ward Lester Kious, Cecil Paul Kious, David Gene Kious and Loren Jasper Kious Jr.; and a great-grandson.
