Lovanda l. Reichert, 98, of Altamont and formerly of Farina, died on Saturday, May 10, 2008, at St. Anthonys Hospital in Effingham.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at United Methodist Church in Farina, with Pastor Mark Nowvakowski officiating. Burial will be in Farina Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday and from noon until time of services on Monday, both at the church. Rankin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Reichert was born on Feb. 23, 1910, in Mattoon, the daughter of Frank and Jenny Shoemaker Lovett. She married Darrel Reichert on July 17, 1933, in Decatur; he died on Feb. 20, 1999.
She was a retired teacher, having taught in the Farina area for 40 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Farina.
She is survived by a son, Gordon Reichert and his wife Trudy of Farina; brother, Kenneth Lovett of Florida; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
