Mildred Billie Green, 85, of Shobonier, died at 6:20 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2008, at the family residence.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church in Vandalia, with the Rev. Viktoria Halmagyi officiating. Burial will be in Pinhook Cemetery, rural Vandalia. Visitation will be held an hour before services on Saturday at the church. Hohlt & File Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Green was born on April 18, 1921, in Grygla, Minn., the daughter of John and Girtie Haugland Hanson. She married Bruce Green on Nov. 18, 1944, in Chicago.
She was a homemaker, and a member of the Methodist Church in Duluth, Minn.
She is survived by her husband; daughters, Patricia Dumbar of Springfield, Eileen Edwards of Knob Noster, Mo., and Margaret and her husband Don Krajeski of Susanville, Calif.; sons, Edward Green and his wife Cathy of Vandalia, and Bruce Green Jr. and his wife Paula of Shobonier; brother, Albert Hanson of Grafton, N.D.; sisters, Edna Moe of Kelliker, Minn., Ruth Kasowski of Cle Elum, Wash., Betty Robinson of St. Thomas, N.D., and Deloris Moe of Grygla, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and four grandchildren.
