Sara L. White, 74, Taylorville

Sara Louise White, 74, of Taylorville and formerly of Mulberry Grove, died on Sunday, April 27, 2008, at Taylorville Care Center in Taylorville.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Young Funeral Home in Mulberry Grove, with the Rev. Randy Whitehead officiating. Burial will be in Mulberry Grove Cemetery, Mulberry Grove. Visitation was to be held from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials: Kidney Foundation.

Mrs. White was born on Sept. 10, 1933, in Benoit, Miss., the daughter of James W. and Sarah L. Harris Copeland. She married George Noel White on Sept. 16, 1951, in Rosedale, Miss.; he died on Oct. 31, 2003.

She grew up in Mississippi and moved to Mulberry Grove with her husband in 1965. She had been living in Taylorville the past few years due to her health. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by sons, George N. White of Mulberry Grove, William Wiley White of Vandalia, and Malcolm Buford White of Greenville; daughters, Brenda Kate Poppenhous of Assumption, Sandra Fay and her husband James Pritts of Shelbyville, Polly Cole of Vandalia, and Melody Renee and her husband Rick Brown of Pana; brother, William D. Copeland of Clinton, Iowa; sisters, Odie C. Lester of Greenville, Lena C. Bayles of Ft. Worth, Texas, Johnnie C. and her husband Randy Harrison of Orlando, Fla., and Bettie C. and her husband Ken Ingram of Ft. Worth, Texas; 30 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two grandchildren and one great-grandson.
