Lucille Eagan, 91, of Patoka, died on Friday, April 18, 2008, at Fifth Season Assisted Living Center in Marion.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at the United Methodist Church in Patoka, with the Rev. Clayton Coffey officiating. Burial will be in Patoka Cemetery, Patoka. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday at Day Funeral Home in Patoka and from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Monday at the church. Memorials: Patoka Methodist Church or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
Mrs. Eagan was born on Nov. 6, 1916, in Foster Township, Marion County, the daughter of Selby and Virginia Nichols Garrett. She married Robert E. Eagan on March 5, 1938, in Patoka; he died on Oct. 10, 1999.
She was a lifelong resident of and grew up in Sandy Branch. She was a homemaker, and a member of the United Methodist Church in Patoka and the Knitting Club.
She is survived by a daughter, Gloria and her husband Tom Oates of Marion; grandchildren, Keith Oates and his wife Sara of Mahomet, Sara and her husband Scott Moore of Adams, Tenn., and Mark Oates of Madisonville, Ky; grandchildren, Delaney, Zachary, Caverly and Aubrey Oates, and Garrett, Grant and Carter Moore; sisters-in-law, Marian Garrett of Salem and Monnett Eagan of California; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters and a brother.
