Rothell Buzzard, 78, Dixon

Rothell Buzzard, 78, of Dixon and formerly of St. Elmo, died on Thursday, April 10, 2008, at his residence.

Memorial services will be held at the Methodist Church in Dixon.

Mr. Buzzard was the son of Ray and Maude Buzzard.

He graduated from St. Elmo High School in 1946 and from the University of Illinois in Champaign in 1950. He was a retired high school teacher.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; sons, Steve Buzzard and his wife Terry of Amboy, and Rick Buzzard and his wife Denise of Atlanta, Ga.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Luella and her husband Leonard Rubin of St. Peter, Leora Corley of Decatur, Carol Jean Myers of Holiday Island, Ark., and Judy Wollet and her husband of Clinton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Eileen Haslett and Eyvonne Brown; and a great-granddaughter.
