Evelyn G. Trexler, 101, of Vandalia, died at 1:46 a.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2008, at Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care.
Serviecs will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Hohlt & File Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Joe Lawson officiating. Burial will be in Ritter Cemetery, Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials: Ritter Cemetery, Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care Activity Fund or Fayette County Health Department Hospice.
Mrs. Ritter was born on Nov. 2, 1906, in Vandalia, the daughter of Curtis and Lula Miller Ritter. She married Floyd C. Trexler on Oct. 10, 1926, in Vandalia; he died on Sept. 14, 1986.
She was a homemaker, and was affiliated with the Baptist faith.
She is survived by sons, Maurice Trexler and his wife June of Vandalia, and Max Trexler and his wife Lola of Vandalia; brother, Gerald E. Ritter and his wife Beulah of Effingham; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Larry and Charles Trexler; daughter, Betty Lou Trexler; one brother; and four sisters.
