Thelma M. Alexander, 93, of Patoka, died on Monday, March 31, 2008, at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Centralia.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Day Funeral Home in Patoka, with the Rev. David Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Pratt Cemetery, rural Patoka. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials: Patoka Ambulance Service.
Mrs. Alexander was born on Dec. 24, 1914, in Patoka, the daughter of Roy Lee and Lizzie E. Cole Murray. She married Cecil Alexander on Dec. 29, 1938, in St. Louis, Mo.; he died on July 23, 1990.
She lived in the Patoka area all of her life, and was a homemaker and farm wife, helping her husband in all aspects of the farm. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and all outdoor activities. She was a member of Mound Chapel Church in rural Patoka.
She is survived by a son, Larry E. Alexander and his wife Rosemary of Patoka; granddaughter, Mona Sue and her husband Bob Davis of Tulsa, Okla.; great-grandchildren, Allison Dee Davis, Nick Davis and Steven Davis, all of Tulsa, Okla.; brother, Harry Murray of Patoka; and sister, Patty Bland of Centralia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers, Glen, Harold, Clyde and Ernie Murray.
