Charlotte E. Henna Lawson, 84, of St. Elmo, died at 9:45 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2008, at Friendship Manor in St. Elmo.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia. Gieseking Funeral Home in Altamont was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Donors choice.
Mrs. Lawson was born on Aug. 26, 1923, in Brownstown, the daughter of Charles and Eva Schwarm Henna. She married Lowell F. Lawson in 1983; he died on May 5, 2001.
She had previously been employees at Robbins Restaurant and Imco, both in Vandalia. She was a member of First Christian Church in Brownstown and Exxon Annuitants, and was a 23-year member of Gieseking-Schwerdtfeger Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7676 Ladies Auxiliary in Altamont.
She is survived by a sister, Thelma Koonce of Cape Coral, Fla.; nephew, Ron Achenbach of Collinsville; niece, Rhonda Nash of Ramsey; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friends, Sue Ferrel of Elkville and Sharon Schmidt of St. Elmo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Phillip Wayne DePew; three brothers; and two sisters.
