Norman R. ‘Norm’ Hill, 75, of Vandalia, died at 5:30 a.m. on Friday, March 21, 2008, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Private family services will be held at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Robert Weaver officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, rural Ramsey. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials: Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Mr. Hill was born on Jan. 22, 1933, in Fayette County, the son of Terry Christopher and Dora Gladys Rhodes Hill. He married Carrie O. Moxey on Aug. 7, 1954, in Ramsey.
He was a former Farm Service manager and was also formerly affiliated with Warsaw Housing Construction. He was affiliated with Mt. Carmel Church and First Baptist Church, both of Ramsey.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Terry Robert Hill and his wife Nid of Dallas, Texas, and Aron Norman Hill and his wife Pam of Frankfort, Ky.; daughters, Linda Ann Stewart of Monmouth, and Amy Hill and her husband Gautam Doddanavar of Dallas, Texas; sister, Anna Rose and her husband Norman Funderburk of Centralia; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
