Mollie E. Funk, 97, of Roanoke, Ill., and formerly of Vandalia, died on Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at Apostalic Christian Home in Roanoke.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at Miller Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Paul Cagle Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia. Visitation will be held an hour before services at the funeral home. Memorials: Friends & Families of Fayette County Hospital.
Mrs. Funk was born on May 1, 1910, in Seminary Township, Fayette County, the daughter of Fredrick William and Venda Eve Ashcraft Spengeman. She married James West Funk on June 27, 1936, in Salem; he died on July 6, 1992.
She was a retired seamstress from the former Princess Peggy Dress Factory in Vandalia, and she was affiliated with First Pentecostal Church in Vandalia.
She is survived by a sister, Marie Mills of Roanoke, Ill.; nephew and caregiver, Norman Mills and his wife Judy of East Peoria; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a brother, Ralph Spengeman.
