Judy A. Hoffek, 59, Vandalia

Judy Ann Hoffek, 59, of Vandalia, died at 10:18 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2008, at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Vandalia, with the Rev. Peter Kolb officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Hohlt & File Funeral Home in Vandalia and from 9 a.m. until time of services at the church on Thursday. Memorials: American Cancer Society or Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Hoffek was born on Marhc 2, 1949, in Vandalia, the daughter of Alvin and Edna Bergman Graumenz. She married Larry Hoffek on April 25, 1981, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Vandalia.

She was retired from Ralston Purina Co. in Vandalia as the sales manager secretary after 22 years. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Vandalia, where she was an Altar Guild chairperson for more than 10 years.

She is survived by her husband; daughter, Michelle and her husband Dane Schmitt of Vandalia; parents; sister, Karen and her husband Charles Geno Cearlock of Vandalia; and 11 nieces and nephews.
