Shirley Fulton, 69, of Vandalia, died at 7:20 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008, at the family residence.
Services will be held at noon on Thursday at Hohlt & File Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Joe Lawson officiating. Burial will be in McInturff Cemetery, rural Vandalia. Visitation will be held an hour before services on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials: American Diabetes Association.
Mrs. Fulton was bon on Aug. 22, 1938, in Tamalco, the daughter of Henry and Ollie Jackson Elder. She married William Frank Fulton; he died on Sept. 3, 2004.
She was a homemaker, and a member of Shobonier Baptist Church.
She is survived by a sons, Leroy Elder and his wife Judy of Hagarstown, Jerry Fulton and his wife Cara of Clay City, and Jimmy Fulton, residence unknown; daughters, Shirlee Marie Byrd of Granite City, Barbara Jean and her husband Ken Krantz of Louisville, and Charman and her husband Tim Dawkins of Clay City; brother, Alva Elder and his wife Reabert of Vandalia; sisters, Mary Ella Willing and Helen E. Bone, both of Vandalia; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Junior Elder; son, William Franklin Fulton; and sisters, Bertha Ilene Chapman, Thelma Marie Torney and Betty June Elder.
