William A. ‘Bill’ Miller, 82, of Decatur and formerly of Ramsey, died at 5:45 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Second Church of God, 27 and Division streets, Decatur, with the Rev. Roy Pritts officiating. Burial will be in Ramsey Cemetery at a later date. Memorials: Second Church of God in Decatur or Ramsey Baptist Church.
Mr. Miller was born on Jan. 8, 1926, in Ramsey, the son of Homer and Sylvia Hebel Miller. He married Norma J. Rainey on July 4, 1948, in Ramsey.
He was a retired service manager at Northtown Ford in Decatur, and a member of Old Capitol Post 3862 of Vandalia and Disabled Veterans in Decatur. He served in the Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Michael Miller and his wife Cheryl of Decatur, and William Miller and his wife, Judy of Moweaqua; foster son, M.J. Miller of Decatur; daughter, Joyce and her husband Tracy Peters of Decatur; grandchildren, Chris, Sarah, Trevor, Nicholas, Cassidy and Benjamin; and great-grandchild, Kyle Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
