Janice E. Pavloff, 64, of Troy and formerly of Vandalia, died at 10:09 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 18, 2008, at her family residence.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Bethel Baptist Church in rural Vandalia, with the Rev. Dan Rush officiating. Burial will be in Forbis Cemetery in rural Brownstown. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services on Friday at the church. Hohlt & File Funeral Home in Vandalia is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Fayette County Health Department Hospice, Family Hospice in Belleville or Bethel Baptist Church in rural Vandalia.
Mrs. Pavloff was born on Sept. 12, 1943, in Lincoln, the daughter of Hubert Burr and Effie Jewell Wagoner Thomason. She married Jerry Francis Pavloff on June 1, 1969, in Alton; he died on Jan. 30, 2001.
She was a homemaker, a member of Bethel Baptist Church, the Sefton Unit of Home Extension and the Fayette County Hospital Auxiliary, and a volunteer for the Fayette County Hospital Auxiliary, Crisis Pregnancy Center and Twice Nice.
She is survived by a brother, Ron Thomason and his wife Sharon of Troy; brother-in-law, Frank Hames of Vandalia; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Margerie Hames; infant brother and sister; and a nephew.
