Hazel L. Wilson, 88, of Divernon and formerly of Altamont, Auburn and Buffalo, died on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at Sunrise Manor in Virden.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Bramley Funeral Home in Auburn, with Rev. Linda Vonck officiating. Burial will be in Auburn Cemetery, Auburn. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials: American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or Divernon United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Wilson was born on Jan. 13, 1920, in Horse Branch, Ky., the daughter of Edker and Bertha Carwile Wilson. She married Foy Wilson on June 29, 1935 in Lincoln; he died on Oct. 5, 1998.
She was employed by Illinois Department of Revenue prior to her retirement. She also sold Avon and Stanley products, and managed the laundromat in Buffalo. She was a member of Buffalo Christian Church and the Town and Country Womens Club of Buffalo.
Surviving are a daughter, Lucille and her husband Bill Hundley of Divernon; sons, Foy Dwayne Wilson and his wife Peggy of Auburn, and Rollin Wilson and his wife Cynthia of Vandalia; son-in-law, Gilbert Davis of Springfield; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Derald Wilson and his wife Verla of Girard; sister, Edna Sargent of Rockford; and sister-in-law, Ann Wilson of Taylorville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Lindell Wilson; a daughter, Alice Davis and brothers, Clellie Wilson, Edwin Red Wilson and Myrl Wilson.
