Arlene Kaye Brown, 65, of Vandalia and formerly of Mulberry Grove, died at 9:05 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, at Vandalia Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Vandalia.
Services will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday at Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville, with the Rev. Pete LeDuc officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until time of services on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials: The Brown family.
Mrs. Brown was born on July 21, 1942, in Highland, the daughter of Harold Harry and Farrell Mary Rench Brown.
She grew up and was reared near Mulberry Grove and attended public schools. She worked as a nurses aide at Utlaut Memorial Hospital for a number of years. She had made Vandalia her home for the past 25 years. She was a member of Woburn Baptist Church, but had been attending Crown Point Church in rural Vandalia.
She is survived by her children, Harold E. Dagen and his wife Edith of Vandalia, Tom L. Hufford of rural Vandalia, Carol S. Dagen of Vandalia (who had made a home for her mother for many years), and Connie and her husband Dennis Martin of Woburn; grandchildren, Bryan, Bethany, Nicholas, Tyler, Lindsay, Morgan, Kimmy and Derek; twin sister, Marlene and her husband Ross Neal of Pocahontas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mrs. Elvern (Mayme) Siebert.
