Friday, February 15

eoe’ The Brownstown Sports Boosters will hold their annual winter cookout at the high school, with serving to begin at 5 p.m. The menu will include ribeye ($6) and porkburger ($5) meals, which will include a sandwich, chips, homemade desserts and drinks. Carry-outs will be available.The Bombers will be hosting the Patoka Warriors on ‘Pack the Place Night,’ and the Sports Boosters will also be selling old Bombers and Fighters uniforms, as well as baseball T-shirts and hats.

Saturday, February 16

eoe’ A free Christian rock and folk concert will be presented by ‘Mercy’s Child’ at 7 p.m. at Christian Hideaway, 516 W. Gallatin St., Vandalia. Donations will be taken at the door.

Monday, February 18

eoe’ A Red Cross babysitting class will be held from 8:30-4:30 p.m. in the conference room at Fayette County Hospital. The cost is $25.

Tuesday, February 19

eoe’ The Vandalia Rotary Club will meet at noon at Ponderosa Steakhouse.

eoe’ The Vandalia Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. in the district’s administration center.

eoe’ A senior citizens dance will be held at 7 p.m. at the Patoka Service Center, 210 W. Bond, Patoka. Admission is $5.

eoe’ The Vandalia City Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the council chambers at Vandalia City Hall, Fifth and Gallatin streets.

Wednesday, February 20

eoe’ A Project Parenting playgroup for children up through 5 years old will be held from 10-11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, St. Elmo.

eoe’ A Lenten Luncheon will be held at noon at First Christian Church in Vandalia. Chaplain Dave Vaughn of Vandalia Correctional Center will speak on ‘Christ the King.’ A free-will offering will be taken. To make reservations, call the church.

eoe’ A dance for seniors will be held at 7 p.m. at the Patoka Service Center, 210 W. Bond St., Patoka. Admission is $5.

eoe’ Bible Blitz will be held from 7-8 p.m. at Parkview Free Methodist Church, which is located at 1507 W. Jefferson St. in Vandalia, for all children age 3 through sixth-grade age. Bible Blitz includes Bible study, music, crafts and games. The church also offers a youth group for junior high- and high school-aged students, as well as an adult Bible Study. All gatherings are open to the public.

eoe’ TOPS IL 2020 will meet at 5:45 p.m. in the Fayette County Hospital conference room. Weigh-in is from 5-5:45 p.m.
