Jerry H. Rhodes, 57, of Altamont and formerly of Ramsey, died at 1:35 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, at his home.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home in Ramsey, with the Rev. Terry Sapp officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Mt. Carmel Cemeter, rural Ramsey. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials: Veterans of Foreign Wars in Altamont or Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Mr. Rhodes was born on Dec. 20, 1959, in Fayette County, the son of Glenn Clifford and Josie Lenora Williams Rhodes. He married Pam Saunders on May 19, 1983.
He was a welder for Irwin Telescopic Seating in Altamont, a member of the VFW Post in Altamont and a Vietnam veteran.
He is survived by a son, Travis Rhodes and his wife Tammy of Pana; daughter, Brittany and her husband Kris Pope of Oconee; brothers, Don Rhodes of Center Point, Iowa, Teddy Rhodes of Vandalia, and Nelvin Sloman of Pawnee; sisters, Lenora Seafried of Sullivan, Florence Brown of Ramsey, and Ada Diveley of Center Point, Iowa; and grandchildren, Aubrea and Blayne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
