The Rev. James E. Bucy, 50, of Patoka, died on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
A homecoming celebration service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at United Pentecostal Church in Patoka, with the Rev. James P. Manning officiating. Burial will be in Patoka Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. on Monday and from 8:30 a.m. until time of services on Tuesday at the church. Day Funeral Homes in Patoka is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: United Pentecostal Church in Patoka or the wishes of the Bucy family.
Rev. Bucy was born on March 12, 1957, in Evansville, Ind., the son of Everett and Mary Lucille Simmons Bucy. He married Leisa K. Hudson on April 14, 1979, in St. Louis, Mo.
He began in the ministry 27 years ago in St. Louis, and came to Patoka 15 years ago as the pastor of the United Pentecostal Church. He was a member of the church, United Pentecostal Church International and Patoka Ministerial Alliance.
He is survived by his wife; son, James E. Bucy Jr. of Patoka; daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and her husband Gary Barnett of Patoka; adopted Korean son, Se-bin Kim of Patoka; mother, of St. Louis, Mo.; granddaughters, Destiny Dawn Barnett and Brittany Mitchell, both of Patoka; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and her husband William McKenzie, Linda and her husband Robert Caldwell, and Rita and her husband Larry Streib, all of St. Louis, Mo., and Dorothy and her husband Allen Crossey of Hillsboro, Mo.; father- and mother-in-law, Don and Gloria Hudson of Afton, Mo.; and brothers-in-law, Kevin Hudson of St. Louis, Mo., and Donald Hudson of Afton, Mo.
