June L. Upton, 73, of Vandalia, died at 3:53 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Services will be held on Monday at Temple Baptist Church in Vandalia, with the Rev. Loren File officiating. Burial will be in South Hill Cemetery in Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday and an hour before services on Monday, both at the church. Memorials: To the family.
Mrs. Upton was born on March 25, 1934, in Cuba, Mo., the daughter of James Andrew Jr. and Lurabelle Hollandsworth Derr. She married William W. Upton on June 16, 1950, in Randolph County, Ark.; he died on Sept. 12, 1974.
She was a former employee of Owens-Illinois, and was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Vandalia.
She is survived by daughters, Janice Jean and her husband Tom Wright of Vandalia, Donna Kay and her husband Dan Kincaid of Garland, Texas, Myra Louise Bahn of Edwardsville, and Terry Lynn and her husband Keith Casey of Bingham; brothers, Jerry Derr and his wife Angie of Montgomery City, Mo., William Eugene Derr and his wife Arma of Festus, Mo., and Jackie Dale Derr and his wife Karon of Warrenton, Mo.; sister, Glenda Gaugh of Moscow Mills, Mo.; grandchildren, Jennifer Burchard, Andrew Wright, Timothy Cedor, Nathan Cedor, Joshua Cedor, Amy Bahn, Emily Bahn, Kimberly Casey and Adam Casey; and great-grandchildren, Samuel, Sarah, Grace, Hannah and Emma Burchard, Alexander, Houston and Chloe Cedor, and Claudia and Audrey Cedor.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, James Bahn; four brothers; and two sisters.
