Bonnie B. Morrison, 77, of Beecher City, died on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Kaskaskia Church in rural Beecher City. Burial will be in Morrison Cemetery, rural Beecher City. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Kessel Funeral Home in St. Elmo. Memorials: Kaskaskia Church, RR 1, Beecher City, Ill., 62414.
Mrs. Morrison was born on June 20, 1930, in Beecher City, the daughter of Glen T. and Lola Beulah A. Wright Rogers. She married Herbert H. Morrison on May 20, 1948, in Loudon Township, Fayette County; he died on Aug. 13, 2003.
She retired in 1999 after many years of service as a teller at First State Bank of Beecher City. She was a member of Royal Neighbors of America No. 5784 of Beecher City and the Wright’s Corner Unit of Fayette County Home and Community Education. She was an election judge for Fayette County, and served as secretary and treasurer for Kaskaskia Church, taking an active part the past several years in reviving the church.
She is survived by daughters, Debra and her husband Paul Parkison of Brownstown, and Kathy and her husband Ken Allen of Howell, Mich.; sons, Steven Morrison and his wife Louise of Beecher City, David Morrison and his wife Barb of Brownstown, Danny ‘Boone’ Morrison and his wife JoAnn of Beecher City, Dennis Morrison and his wife Melody of Altamont, Gary Morrison and his wife Sandy of Beecher City, and Tim Morrison of Beecher City; brother, Ed Rogers and his wife Becky of Beecher City; sister, Janet and her husband Jim Shelton of Beecher City; sisters-in-law, Leora Sluder of St. Elmo and Barbara Morrison of Pekin; brothers-in-law, Clement Lilly of St. Elmo, Paul ‘Short’ Taylor of Taylorville, Kevin Morrison and his wife Jayne of Beecher City, and Richard Morrison and his wife Richelle of Beecher City; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Elvira ‘Barb’ Taylor, Patsy ‘Pat’ Simmons, Gerneda ‘Pee Wee’ Lilly and twin sister Janet, Janice Rogers.
