Agnes Nancy Elam, 95, Vandalia

Agnes Nancy Elam, 95, of Vandalia, died at 2:35 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, at Friendship Manor Nursing Home in St. Elmo.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at McInturff Cemetery, rural Vandalia, with the Rev. Larry Arndt officiating. Hohlt & File Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Donors choice.

Mrs. Elam was born on June 14, 1912, in Patoka, the daughter of Samuel Cyrus and Lola Etta Arnold Green. She married Raymond Clinton Elam on May 5, 1945, in Hillsboro; he died on Aug. 6, 2006.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by a great-nephews, Gary Conant and his wife Janet of Alma, and Alan Conant and his wife Terry of Salem; niece, Thelma Jean Robb of South Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Gene and Russell Green; and sisters, Lovell Conant and Anna Crawley.
