Barbara ‘Jane’ Walker, 74, of Yorkville and formerly of Naperville and St. Elmo, died on Monday, Jan. 7, 2008, at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Kessel Funeral Home in St. Elmo. Burial will be in Sidener Cemetery, rural St. Elmo. Visitation will be one hour before services at the funeral home. Memorials: Donor’s choice.
Mrs. Walker was born on Feb. 17, 1933, in St. Elmo, the daughter of Ray and Ione Feezel Irey. She married Ronald J. Walker, Ph.D., on April 10, 1954, in Lawton, Okla. He died on April 26, 2004.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed researching genealogy.
She is survived by sons, Daniel Walker and his wife Hilary of Southfield, Mich., Gregory Walker and his wife Lisa of Plainfield, Timothy Walker and his wife Maribel of Bolingbrook, and Matthew Walker and his wife Dawn of Earlville; grandchildren, Jennifer, Hannah, Lauren, Rachel, Adrian, Hailey, Anali, Daniel, Nikki and Savanna; sisters, Sue Pollack, Mary Irey, Dorothy Grant, Fern and her husband Mick Moore, and Faye Flower-Irey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Lee Irey.
