Wilma Jeanette Watson, 84, of Brownstown, died at 2:17 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Claggett Funeral Home in Brownstown, with the Rev. Paul Brown officiating. Burial will be in Griffith Cemetery, rural Brownstown. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials: Griffith Cemetery or donors choice.
Mrs. Watson was born on Dec. 29, 1923, in rural Brownstown, the daughter of Jesse and Mila Sidwell McCormick. She married Carl E. Gene Watson on May 30, 1942.
She was the retired co-owner and operator of Genes Red Fox Food Market in Brownstown, and was a member of the Brownstown United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband; son, Gary Watson and his wife Judy of Brownstown; grandchildren, Blaine Watson and his wife Debbie of Bement, and Heather and her husband Chad Kimberlin of Brownstown; great-granddaughter, Audrey Watson of Bement; two nieces and a nephew; caretakers, Gene and Helen Reeter of Brownstown; and special family, Jim and Debbie Troxell, and their son, Tyler, of Vandalia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.
