Michelle Renee Langel Frith, 39, of Pocahontas, died at 12:40 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007, at Barnes-Jewish-Christian Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at First Christian Church in Greenville, with Darryl Bolen officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. on Wednesday at First Christian Church in Greenville. Memorials: Jeremy Friths college fund, ovarian cancer research of First Christian Church.
Ms. Frith was born on Aug. 9, 1968, in Greenville, the daughter of Roebrt D. and Margaret A. Frueh Langel.
She was reared on the Langel farm west of Greenville, attended Pocahontas schools and graduated from Greenville High School in 1986. She attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and Edwardsville, and Ingracia School of Court Reporting. She was office manager at American Metal Fabricating for several years, and for the past two years, she had been a consultant for Pamper Chef, recently being named director. She was a member of Greenville First Christian Church and St. Jacob Jaycees (with whom she received an Outstanding Secretary Award), served as secretary of the Bond County Ski Club since 2001, was a Bond County 4-H member for 11 years and a leader for many years, and was a participant in several Relay for Life events.
She is survived by a son, Jeremy R. Frith; parents; paternal grandparents, Eldon and Lucille Langel of the Old Ripley neighborhood; sister, Jennifer L. and her husband Todd Hunsche of Edwardsville; and niece, Brooke Hunsche.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Edward and Dorothy Frueh; and sister, Lori A. Langel, on Oct. 15, 2000.
